memory lane

We're back and we are trying to count down the hours until a new year comes. What is it about the dawning of a new year that encourages much reflection? Me I am always haunted by the things I can not change. The failures the regrets that are continually hounding me. This gives me reason to thank the Lord for my beautiful wife who helps to keep me focused on the things that really matter. To keep from boring you guys this will be just a short trip down memory lane. This lane will not extend all the way to January of last year but will just be a short road into the month of December. With a new marriage and a new chapter in both of our lives things were very different but very good at the same time. We spent time with the family in Canada. Like it or not Christmas will never be the same for us. We had a great time with the Beck family.
Maw B and Paw B--thanks for making Christmas special for us, especially me being so far away from the Miles' and all. We will remember with great joys our first Christmas as a married couple. Next time we visit no tears ok?
Jamie and Megan--Thanks so much for the laughs, the presents, and all the hours of street fighter. You are such a blessing, and I hope the miles that separate us will only be a tool to draw us closer together.
Matt and Heather--Thank y'all for the times you rescued us from....well more on that later. It was great hanging out with you both. It only makes us want to be closer so that we could enjoy His creation with you. Matt happy hunting...Heather happy dog and cat sitting which is great practice for GRANDCHILDREN!!
We love and miss you all
Only 2 hours and 45 min until the new year welcomes us, there is no way we are going to make it, so happy new year early. We will see it in the morning!!

Awesome reading your blog! and appreciate the kind words! It was soooo good having you both up here this Christmas! Dad and I just played Sequence into the New Year(I won) and commented on the fact that we will never have another Christmas just like this last one! But that just made it all the more special! Love you both! Happy New Year and all the best in 2006!!! This was our first empty nest New Year's Eve since 1976!!! almost 30 years!
