We had a great time in South Carolina over Christmas, always good to see and catch up with family. A lot of the time was spent with the Miles immediate family and extended family. I was able to meet some relatives that I hadn't met yet, which was quite enjoyable. Darin's aunt that lives in France came over for the holidays along with her husband and youngest two boys. It made for a full house with Grandma and Grandpa Haas over as well, but I enjoy seeing the family interact and the opportunity to meet more of the people that have been a part of Darin's life. It was also good for all of the Miles' boys to be together, it has been awhile since that has happened. Another fun thing that we got to do was go to the Carolina Opry in myrtle Beach on Boxing Day. I had never been and they put on quite the Christmas show, we enjoyed it greatly.
This was my first Christmas away from my family, which was hard, but it was great to be able to talk to them all on Christmas Eve, even if it was only for a brief moment. One thing that I really enjoyed is that I got to talk to my brother for quite a long time because he called before going over to my parents. It made me miss them all more, but it was good anyway. I was thankful for my husband who always shows me such tenderness and love and for my in-laws who welcome me with open arms.
The four boys together and having fun. They all played together in church on Christmas Eve morning, which was very special for their parents and grandparents to see.
Darin was teaching Cort how to rap, which brought many laughs from everyone. Cort loves his uncles and Darin and him had a lot of lost time to catch up on.
David got engaged over the holidays to Haley, who was only able to be there for one night while we were there and she unfortunately was very sick over the time period, so I didn't get any good pictures of her. From the time we did get to spend with her, she seems to be a very sweet girl and I am excited for their wedding and life together. I think that they are planning an August or September wedding in West Virginia.
The Miles men are very into ping pong and the garage was set up with two tables and there wasn't much time when someone wasn't playing. Here Darin is teaching Cort how to play, which was fun to watch because Cort wasn't quite getting the hitting it softly concept.
Christmas Eve, with the Miles family.
