A picture and a post

What have we been up to, you might as yourselves and I will try to answer that for you. Other than growing baby, which is my main job as of late and will be for a little bit longer (I'll get to that later), we have been looking at alot of horse pictures, and attending our childbirth class marathon. The horse pictures are because Darin has been trying to update our horse pictures and has tended to go a little overboard when taking them, but the results have been quite impressive. For example, I think he has taken upward of 200 pictures of one horse, good thing for digital cameras, otherwise the developing bill would be outrageous. I will try to pick out some good ones, but it might be too difficult since there are so many. One good one is on the ranch website, harvestcreekranch.com. I picked some, but there are a whole lot more that are good. Sorry Heather, for the many horse pictures, I know they are not high on you list of favorite animals, but you'll just have to suffer a little.

The childbirth class marathon was on Saturday from 9am-4pm, it was suppose to be two days, but last week's got cancelled because of flash flood warnings in the area. It went well and I think that it was very helpful for Darin and myself in helping prepare us a little for what to expect. Our instructor was great and I think that made the day much more bearable, although by the end we were definitely ready to head for home. I was also excited that we made it to the class because it had been up in the air if she would stay in that long. It was fun to see the OB ward and the nursery and to think that we will be there shortly to have our own little one, crazy.

Speaking of our little one, I had my doctor's appointment today and I am still only one cm dilated, which is great. I will still have to rest until 37 weeks because after that, she is more than welcome to come and will have no difficulties. Somethings that might be a problem if she comes now is being able to keep herself warm, breathe and eat all at the same time. Some babies do great at this, but the majority born at this age still struggle with getting all three going at the same time. She would probably have to get fed through a syringe because she wouldn't be able to latch on properly yet and later on she would prove to be more difficult, in the sense of having to feed more often because of such a teeny stomach. Also, she would probably have to be kept under an oxygen hood and heater, which is not exactly what we want. So, about a week and a half left and then my doctor said I can get up, run around, do jumping jacks, whatever I want because she can come whenever. At first I was sad that I still have to be on rest, but then Darin reminded me that it is not that much longer and my doctor said it is much easier to be resting than caring for an early baby. So, here I lay on my bed and grow baby. A funny story about little one is that when my doctor was checking my cervix, little one did not like that very much and was moving and squirming all around, in such a wayso much so that my doctor could feel it, silly kid.

I think that is all that is new at the moment, hope you enjoy the update.

Hey Jody!

Great pictures....we're viewing the blog from beautiful Denail Lodge here in Alaska. Crazy to think we can view the blog and be here at the same time. We're having a wondrous time...but we'll be ready to be home by Friday. Keep resting up and taking care of the little one! You look wonderful. We love you all three! Mama T

I was thinking about you yesterday when I was shopping for little girl clothing for another little one. I'm glad to hear that yours is still staying put for now. It's not much longer. Wishing you all God's best in these next weeks as you anticipate "holding in your arms" your amazing little miracle of life.

I want to see a picture of you doing your jumping jacks at 37 weeks! Well, maybe not. Hang in there. Your time is almost here.
